ST. LAWRENCE NYSARC HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING TO HONOR ACHIEVEMENTS

St. Lawrence NYSARC, (www.slnysarc.org) a non-profit corporation dedicated to working for and with people with disabilities, recently held its Annual Dinner Meeting at SUNY Canton's Chaney Dining Center.  The meeting also served to elect the Agency's slate of officers for 2006-2007 and honor staff members, volunteers and participants. 

 

The elected officers for St. Lawrence NYSARC's Board of Directors for 2006-2007 are as follows: Patricia Campanella, President; Randy Peets, Esq., 1st Vice President; Jackie Sauter, 2nd Vice President; Phyllis Shimmel, Treasurer and Clyde Butz, Secretary. 

 

Staff members, participants, volunteers and employees were recognized at the meeting for their achievements during the past year.  The St. Lawrence NYSARC Staff Member of the Year for 2005 is Barb Agen, Administrative Assistant for the Article 28 Clinic and Central Office in Canton.  Agen was selected for her humor, wisdom, and commitment to the people served by the Agency.

 

Gary Cooper received the 2005 Seaway Industries Employee of the Year Award.  Cooper works at the Agency's bottle redemption site in Gouverneur.  He was recognized for his positive attitude and self-advocacy efforts.

 

St. Lawrence NYSARC also honored Roseann Hanley with the Keith Bush Memorial Award for 2006.  Hanley was selected for her long-term dedication as a volunteer helping people in the Ogdensburg area.

 

Board members and Administration also recognized staff members celebrating an anniversary for years of service. 

 

The following staff members were acknowledged for five years of service: Rita Adams, Michael Borrelli, Kelly Brothers, Lawrence Brown, Juanita Burns, Neil Clary, Bobbi Jo Closs, Christina Cook, Julie Dashno, Tara Davis, Marcia Dillabough, Jessica Finton, Barry Gregor, Jessica Haggett, Lorraine Hanson, Brian Hicks, Robert Holt, Patricia LaCroix, Lisa LaDue, Gizelle LaRose, Lori Luce, Dale Lawrence, Charles Marsh, Susan Martin, Brandi Matice, Elizabeth Matott, Grace Mittelstaedt, Joseph Montgomery, Leisha Murcray, Christopher Peets, Cory Peterson, Deana Phelix, Homer Rafter, Brenda Rich, Wanda Robidoux, Pamela Rook, Dawn Saucier, Mandy Simser, Mildred Smith, Kathleen Snowman, Laurie Staie, Kristy Thurber, Katherine Walrath, Amanda Winiarski and David Woodward.

 

In honor of ten years of service, the following people were recognized: Katherine Baker, Nichole Beckstead, Julia Blackmer, George Brassard, Catherine Caskinette, Paula Douglas, Judy Gollaher-Doane, Janice Flanagan, Danielle Garrow, Anne Horan, Robin Hoyt, Sandra LaBow, Janet Lawton, Martha Lumley, Kevin Marsh, Kimberly Mart, Kitty McAdam, Mandy McCluskey, Stephen Pike, Jennifer Vincent-Barwood, and Robert Voss.

 

In honor of 15 years of service, the Agency acknowledged: Carrie Bryant, Robert Keyser and Rebecca Peets.

 

The following staff members were recognized for 20 years of service: Russel Backus, Virginia Bailey, Mabel Baxter, Patricia Baxter, Laurie Blais, Tina Brown, Terrance Clary, Lillian Cuthbert, Nancy Davis, Janet Dyke, Rebecca Farr, Susan Farrell, Paula Martin, Shirley McGregor, John Perme, Trish Potocar, Mary Ann Tischler, and Josie Thomson.

 

St. Lawrence NYSARC also honored David Brassbridge, May Clark, Rebecca Cole, Richard Fitzgerald, Bonnie Grant, and Sherri Love for 25 years of service.

 

Lida Perrin of the Agency's Ogdensburg Work Center was recognized for 30 years of employement.  Perrin is the first person in St. Lawrence NYSARC's 47 year history to give 30 years of service to the Agency.


St. Lawrence NYSARC exists as a non-profit membership association to provide services in the community for persons with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Our mission is to enable individuals and their families an opportunity to achieve self-determined goals in
partnership with this Agency.
