About the Artist

Sally Hartman is an artist, art teacher, and promoter of the arts in St. Lawrence County.  She runs the Ladies First Gallery of Art in Rensselaer Falls, where she displays the artwork of regional women artists.  Her work to reestablish the St. Lawrence Arts Council, provide affordable classes in the arts, and help young people enter the art field is being honored at the Annual Meeting of the St. Lawrence County this Februry.  Sally has recently been awarded a New York State Council on the Arts Grant to provide three ceramic workshops at Ladies First Gallery of Art in the Summer of 2006.  The Canton Library is the conduit for this funding.
