St. Lawrence NYSARC Holds Annual Meeting to Honor Staff and Employee Achievements

St. Lawrence NYSARC, (www.slnysarc.org) a non-profit corporation dedicated to working for and with people with disabilities held its Annual Dinner Meeting on Friday, May 20th at SUNY Canton's Chaney Dining Center. The meeting also served to elect the Agency's slate of officers for 2005-2006 and honor staff members, employees and consumers.  

The elected officers for St. Lawrence NYSARC's Board of Directors for 2005-2006 are as follows: Patricia Campanella, President; Randy Peets, Esq., 1st Vice President; Jackie Sauter, 2nd Vice President; Phyllis Shimmel, Treasurer and Clyde Butz, Secretary.

During The Agency's meeting, the Employees of the Year for 2004 were honored. The St. Lawrence NYSARC Staff Member of the Year for 2004 is Sandra Greenwood, Treatment Team Leader for the Agency's Norwood Day Habilitation program. Greenwood was selected for her keen attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and ability to communicate with others.

The Agency awarded the 2004 Seaway Industries Employee of the Year to James "Mike" Evans.  Evans works at the Agency's Data 4-U program in Potsdam. He was honored for his outstanding work ethic and his efforts to overcome barriers.  

St. Lawrence NYSARC also honored Wayne Hall with the Lifetime Achievement Award.  Hall is a participant of the Agency's Massena Day Habilitation Program. He was awarded for his dedication to leading a fulfilling life through volunteer efforts, leisure activities, and work experiences. Hall seeks out opportunities and works with staff to overcome personal obstacles and achieve his goals.

"The Annual Dinner Meeting is an event that gives us the chance to recognize our dedicated staff members and volunteers," said Daphne Pickert, Executive Director, St. Lawrence NYSARC. "It is also a time to celebrate the Agency's accomplishments and the achievements of the people we serve."


St. Lawrence NYSARC exists as a non-profit membership association to provide services in the community for persons with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Our mission is to enable individuals and their families an opportunity to achieve self-determined goals in
partnership with this Agency.
