The Foundation of St. Lawrence NYSARC Holds Art Benefit to Support Programs for People with Disabilities

St. Lawrence NYSARC (www.slnysarc.org), a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to working for and with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is hosting an Art Benefit to support The Foundation on Friday, October 12th at the Gran View in Ogdensburg, N.Y. The Benefit will begin at 6:45 p.m. with a wine tasting and appetizers and will be followed by a gourmet dinner.  A silent and live auction of local artwork will take place throughout the night.  The Art Benefit is presented by Rose & Kiernan, Inc. Live music will be performed by the Crane String Trio.

The Auctioneer for the evening will be Roger Huntley.  The Auction will feature works of art donated from artists and businesses in and around St. Lawrence County.  Items available for auction include; Adirondack-themed art and furniture, original paintings, sculptures, wine baskets, pottery, photography, quilted items, glass works, drawings, Amish hand-made goods, artisan soaps, and jewelry.

 

Artists and businesses that donated works for auction include: Wilson Bickford, Evan Blondell, Carol Backus, Busyfingers Woodworking, Max Coots, Stephen Cressey, Karan Cross, Gail Dempsey, Tess Eells, Mary Ann Evans, Mary Harding, Suzy Hoffleit, Bill Knoble, John Miller III, John Morrow, Mary Ann and J. Malcom Owen, Pickens General Store, Pat Sennett, Vera Ponko, Frederic Remington Gift Shop, Rosanne Rossa, Jochen Sieckmann, Roger Smith, Sun Feather Natural Soap Company, TAUNY, Alan B. Tuttle, and Betsy Tisdale.  The auction will also include items created by people served through the Agency's Community Arts Program.

 

The Foundation of St. Lawrence NYSARC funds services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  It is the goal of The Foundation to become a vital resource to sustain services that assist individuals in achieving more fulfilling lives. Some of these services include: The Community Arts Program, Summer Camp, Respite Programs, and Senior Programs.

 

The Art Benefit is presented by Rose and Kiernan, Inc. with Corporate Sponsorship from Bonadio Group and Contributing Sponsorship from Community Bank.  Additional Sponsorship is being provided by Smith Barney and Kinney Drugs.

 

The evening's menu will include an appetizer of oysters rockefeller, candied walnut and gorgonzola salad, New York style cheesecake and a choice of entrees including chateaubriand, mahi-mahi or quail.  Wine will accompany both dinner and dessert.
