SUNY Potsdam Drama Department Offers Educational Opportunity to People with Disabilities

SUNY Potsdam's Department of Dance and Drama recently offered participants of St. Lawrence NYSARC a unique chance to experience a live theatrical experience and artistic workshop.

During SUNY Potsdam's spring production of Yosemite, Department of Dance and Drama Co-Chairperson Kimberley Bouchard arranged a special showing of the play for more than 50 individuals with disabilities from St. Lawrence NYSARC.  This free performance was a dream come true for many program participants; many of whom had never attended a play prior to this event.

After the show, members of The St. Lawrence NYSARC Community Arts Program, The Community Players participated in a two-hour college level acting workshop, led by Kimberley Bouchard and two of her drama students, Molly Tighe and Amy Broadbent.  It was a day that provided a quality learning experience for The Community Players, whom are studying acting and performing in the Community Arts Program.
