FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - St. Lawrence NYSARC (, a private, non-profit organization committed to maximizing the potential of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, received a generous donation of furniture from Best Western University Inn, Canton, NY. The items will enhance the vacation experience for adults and children who visit the Lodge at Dodge Pond in Fine, NY this Summer.


The Best Western generously donated about 300 items to St. Lawrence NYSARC earlier this year, including: dressers, desks, art, small refrigerators, office chairs, night stands, lamps, microwaves, tables, lounge chairs, mirrors and beds. People with developmental disabilities will enjoy the new furniture and appliance additions from the Best Western during the Adult Summer Vacations and the Summer Recreation Rotary Camp weeks. These supplies were used for upgrades throughout the Agency, as well.


Owned and operated by St. Lawrence NYSARC, the Lodge at Dodge Pond. is set amid 300 acres of Adirondack beauty off of County Route 27 in the Town of Fine. Every year, about 350 people get to experience new friendships, campfires, swimming, fishing, boating, songs and games. This year, Adult Summer Vacations will take place during the following sessions: June 27–June 30, July 4–July 7, July 11–July 14, and July 18–July 21. The 2016 Dodge Pond Summer Recreation Rotary Camp weeks are: July 25 – July 30 and August 1–August 6. Children with special needs may attend this week for free, thanks to sponsorships from Rotary Clubs from St. Lawrence and Jefferson Counties.


The public is also welcome to enjoy a weekend at The Lodge at Dodge Pond, and conference and retreat services are provided to a wide variety of organizations throughout the year.
