FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – St. Lawrence NYSARC, a private, non-profit organization committed to maximizing the potential of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, conducted the 36th Annual Fund Raiser on June 4, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at the Village Green in Canton, NY. The Agency sold 3,831 certificates for a gross profit of $32,785.
Dayna Bellardini of Norwood, NY won the grand prize of $10,000 cash! Proceeds from this raffle support the purchase of technology to enhance education options for people with disabilities.
Canton’s Town Supervisor, David Button, presided over the drawing, which was especially fitting because he and Mrs. Button donated the second prize.
Daphne Pickert, CEO/Executive Director of St. Lawrence NYSARC, expressed appreciation for support of the Fund Raiser. “For 36 years, the community, our staff members and loyal contributors have come together to further our work on behalf of people with developmental disabilities," Pickert said. "We are grateful for this show of support and excited to use the funds for educational technology that will benefit over 750 local people."
As previously announced, an “Early Bird Drawing” was held in May. Melanie LaVack of Gouverneur, NY, won the prize: a circle pendant on a chain valued at over $1000 donated by Greg and Brenda Carbino.
