Autism Awareness Walk: On Saturday, September 12, 2009, St. Lawrence NYSARC held the 2nd Annual Autism Awareness Walk at the Canton Park.  More than 450 people were in attendance and raised over $10,000 to support people on the Autism Spectrum.  The funds will be used for educational events, training, and building a reference library for parents and students as a resource for information on the disorder.

 

Breast Cancer Walk: On May 16, 2009, Team NYSARC had over 45 members participate in the Pepsi Sponsored Gouverneur Business Womens' Annual Breast Cancer Walk held in Gouverneur.  Team NYSARC raised over $400 to assist individuals in our County with the added expenses incurred when battling this disease. Special thanks to all the Team NYSARC Members that braved the nasty weather.  Despite the rainy weather, fun was had by all!
Edward I. Moses Walk/Run for Life: On April 26, 2009, Team NYSARC had 42 people participate in the Edward Moses Walk.  The money raised will assist people locally in the battle with Cancer.
Team NYSARC TBI Walk
Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Walk: Price Chopper sponsored St. Lawrence NYSARC's first awareness walk for Traumatic Brain Injury in March 2009 at Potsdam State's Maxcy Hall.  More then 100 people attended the walk which raised over $3,000.  The funds will be used to promote awareness and support people with TBI in St. Lawrence County. 
Adopt-A-Family: In December of 2008,Team NYSARC was able to spread holiday cheer to three families in the Adopt a Family Program through Renewal House.  Thanks to the generosity displayed by Team Memebers, eight children in need recveived a bevy of toys, clothes, and other necessary items this year.
Adopt-A-Shelter: In  December of 2008, Team NYSARC adopted the local animal shelters and provided pet food, toys, and cleaning supplies were donated by individuals with in Agency at Camp Muddy Paws in Gouverneur, the Ogdensburg Animal Shelter and at the Potsdam Animal Shelter. 
Hobble Gobble
Hobble Gobble: Team NYSARC had 24 people attend the Annual Hobble Gobble Walk/Run, held in West Potsdam.  Despite the frigid tempratures all the volunteers had a great time raising money for several North Country charieties, such as Helping Hands and the Potsdam Holiday Fund. 
Autism Awareness Walk
Autism Awareness Walk: Team NYSARC sponsored St. Lawrence County's first awareness walk for Autism Spectrum Disorders in September 2008 at the Canton Park.  More then 250 people attended the walk which raised over $10,000.  The funds will be used for educational events, training, and building a reference library for parents and students as a resource for information on the disorder.
Pancakes for Parkinson's: In July of 2008, Team NYSARC with the assistance of the V.F.W. Post 1231, Ladies Auxiliary held the first ever Parkinson's Awareness breakfast.  This event was a huge success with over 90 people being served and over $900 raised for the Parkinson's Foundation.  The success of this event was because of the huge support provided by Team members and local businesses in our Community.
Freewill Dinner Freewill Dinner: Team NYSARC assisted the Canton United Methodist Church with their Freewill Dinner in August 2008.  The Freewill dinners are held the 2nd , 3rd, and 4th, Wednesday of every month, for individuals in our Community who may not receive a hot meal on any other day.  The Team NYSARC volunteers assisted with preparation, cooking, serving and clean up of the event.
Special Olympics: In May of 2008, Team NYSARC volunteered at the Franklin-St. Lawrence County Area 27, Special Olympics.  The group of volunteers assist annual with set up and the running of the Track and Field Events.  More than 35 volunteers participate in this event.  Team NYSARC was also named "Volunteer Group of the Year!"

Heart Walk: Team NYSARC travelled to Watertown, N.Y. and participated in the annual Heart Walk in April 2008.  Over 20 participants raised $1,000 by selling Red Dress pins and Heart Walk bracelets.
